Essential car care caddy

Since we love our beautiful - small family size - car , we like always to take care of it whenever we have time for that. We used to take it to the car wash stations whenever we feel it a little dusty or needs to be cleaned and washed. Buutttttt after having a little funny toddler setting in the car with all of these snacks and crackers we had to care about it a little bit more than before.

We like to wipe the dashboard , vacuum the floor and clean some stains on the seats from a time to time. And because my husband does a lot of driving in the morning and in the evening everyday, and because we go out sometimes in the holidays , a car care products and essentials caddy became a must.

An organized craft supplies area

Our craft section in the office room was occupying an Ikea BILLY bookcase in our office room. Last year I wasn't so excellent enough in taking photos and the DIYs were not so perfect from my point of view and now the craft area is a little empty and it has been put in hold for a while as we have a nice toddler running around and when it comes to a jewellery maker craft storage ... This is absolutely dangerous for my toddler.

 But I still like to show you the photos of how craft area was last year because I still remember how  it was so fun to organize such area. I am so into organizing craft supplies. I love the challenge organizing small things especially when they are so small, so pretty and so colourful. So let's take a look

DIY diaper changing organizer

One of my favourite projects that really work for years now is my toddler DIY changing diaper organizer. I know I have shared it before but I thought also of making an update as some changes occurred. My toddler grew up a little and he no longer sticks in a place so some habits and activities changed. Another reason is because I didn't share an exact tutorial of how to make it. So here we are.

Happy Easter + Back again

It has been a long time since I released my last post. I really missed my few beautiful readers and I missed blogging so much. It was a hard way to go through to be able to back in blogging. I was making some changes in house and redesigning some of stuff places.  I just needed some time to get myself organized with bunch of challenges I am living with around my home.  You will excuse me if I said that I have no pantry. No coat closet. No linen closet. No laundry room. No basement or garage. I have smallest kitchen ever. I live in two bathrooms and one kitchen house with no closed cabinets under any sink. I know I can get some extra furniture and wardrobes and add some storages everywhere but as you know, we are renting the house and moving into smaller house is an option and I like to be sure I will not end up with throwing away some furniture plus I like the challenges and problem solving. So I am so excited about coming back and share all my solutions I came up with in the upcoming posts.

you also may noticed that www.sweetntidy.blogspot.com is changed into www.sweetntidy.com. Yes, I made some changes to our blog and I am looking forward a cleaner and neater look for its pages. Also looking forward improving my writing and photographing skills.


It's Easter time. I hope these beautiful Easter eggs give a good reason to forgive me for this long time of absence. And I will take the chance to say Happy Easter for you and please enjoy the beautiful weather as much as you can.

In Easter and some special events, I like to show up my talent in decorating and DIYing. Easter is a good chance for playing with colors. I tried as much as I can to break the eggs as cleaner as possible with keeping the egg shape at the same time. It took some time but it worth it.

I also chose my son little basket he plays with to act as a home of my Easter eggs. Speaking about colors and fragile eggs, if you have toddlers do not try this at home :D :D. There were some accidents but they finally went fine. Maybe I should apology for taking his beautiful handmade basket.

I used bright colors and tried some beautiful shapes and flowers. Wasn't so hesitated to use some black. It gives awesome contrasts. also cutting some light brown scrap papers was a good idea to fill in the bottom of the basket to give that kind of nest look. I loved how they become and they are ready to decorate my home.

For me I liked not to make the shapes so perfect and show a little hand drawing and  avoiding so sharp and harsh lines and shapes. I like it that way because it shows up the DIY atmosphere and home warmness a little, right?

Using some color markers would be great also for drawing some shapes and flower. For me I used water colors and it turned out so beautifully also with the paint brush.

Make your own Magic hanger

Remember those magic hangers we see on TV and here and there over the internet ?

You know how much this saves space, right?. It is useful for small closets and limited spaces. I wish I could buy too many, but why I have to buy when I already have a free one in my home? I just inspired the idea and it's all  done. I couldn't believe I have it. 

Anyone can do it with no time . It's super easy and inexpensive. Do you you know the hangers we used to  hang behind doors? those which you find everywhere in dollar store ? Just check this out.

This is the normal hanger. With S-shape hooks I hang it to the closet stick.

 The hanger already is divided like a chain.I hanged a cloth hanger in each section.

So this is the normal state for the magic hanger. To maximize the space . Just remove one S-shape hook and you are done. Are you ready?

Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .

All the shirts now are hanging vertically . I love the way it turns. 

You can see now. The shirts take no much space . No screws . No drill . No even glue and DIY complicated steps. Just S- shape hook and regular door hanger. you are done. Congratulation for the new magic hanger you freely have.

How to organize origami papers

As I said before I am so crafty person . I like crafts so much . I have  too many origami papers which I use to make very beautiful origami shapes. All what I did to organize them is to get a shoe cardboard box and covered it with contact papers and made cardboard dividers for it.

Here is how to do it

I cut 3 pieces of cardboard  W x H and two pieces D x H. In equal spaces I cut  H/2 stripes inside the cardboard pieces to make room for the mutual cardboard pieces to in like a mesh. It now fits all my origami papers . Also my folded origami pieces .

A quick tip . If you have small pieces of origami papers remained from your projects just group them with elastics  or rubber bands. 

And this is how I organize my origami papers. I also grouped them by colors to make it easier to use.

A surprise in beads DIY shelves

Remember those DIY  stairs shelves I have shared before?  They are stair shelves I made to display my small beads' jars. Actually it may be a surprise when you see how I made a secret storage inside them. Have a look.

I just cut pieces of cardboard to make a box that fits each space and I covered them with gift paper. Of course if you have a contact paper you will get more clean finish but I didn't have contact papers that day.

What I want to say is to try always to think outside the box. Try to consume each space in your room or closet. Think , think and think again. You will get it.

DIY : Changing table organizer for baby

It has been a long time not to  post on my blog. I really missed blogging. I had to have some time focusing on some duties of taking care of my baby and back again to the track and I think it's time to come back again.

Before going into this lovely project, all the changing needs used to be on the side table which actually my makeup mirror counter. I don't have changing table so I used my baby bed as a changing table putting a mat under him while changing.

I was thinking about plastic door organizers and fabric remote control organizers we used to see around the internet. So I made this one by my own and it REALLY WORKS. All what I needed were fabric from my craft room, sponge sheet, scissor and sewing machine. I am not very good in using sewing machine. Actually I don't have one, but my mother in low has and with a little of help we have done this gorgeous organizer.

Just cut double layers of fabric that fits the height and width you need facing the wrong side of fabric out and putting single layer of the sponge sheet on the top then sew the edges except one edge that allows you to turn the fabric to the right side, turn to have the right face again and close the last edge. With the same concept create the pockets and attach them to the long piece of fabric.

I attached the organizer to the bed by some threads. Let me take you in a tour.

In the very first pocket he has his changing mat folded, some diapers and baby changing lotion.

The second pocket he has some of stuff he uses every day like hair brush, his dummy, perfume and if he currently takes any medicine.

In the very last pocket I put for him reusable milk tins that I used for paper towels, home made baby wipes ans small size trash bags to put dirty diapers inside them ...tie them strongly ... you know for the smell :D.

How to make cell phone holder

This is the most lovely project I ever made. It is easy, inexpensive and done in noooooo time and the result is amazing :D. I always looking for my cell phone around the house. Do you? Yes I know. We all do. We waste sometimes looking for our cell phone until we give up and ask someone to call us to find it. I made this lovely gorgeous DIY cell phone holder today and it looks beautiful.

 It is made out of resources that you already have in your house. Let's start

  You will need:

1 - One single sock
2 - scissor
3 - Good amount of fiber, you can use half amount or less of an old small pillows.
4 - elastic thread
5 - Old CD
6 - A needle and
7 - Hot glue gun

1 - Roll the toes of the sock (the closed end) to get this flower look, secure it with elastic thread and cut with scissor.

2 - Turn the sock inside out and insert the CD inside it.

3 - From the hole of CD pull the sock from the other side.

4 - stuff with fiber over the Cd and around the sock tail.

5  - Turn the sock and insert the CD again through the sock tail making the fiber to be inside them . You should face the right side of the sock now after you flipped it in the first step.

This is from the back to show what  I mean. Just cut the tortuous remains of the sock - if exist -  to make the holder stands properly on a flat surface.

6 - With your fingers or with a needle adjust the fiber to be tidy trying to make a sweet shape as shown in the next picture and add the flower with the glue gun.

7 - Put your cell phone.  You are done :D.

This was also free inexpensive DIY that you can make in no time and you will have much fun. Just a quick note that it will not work very well with REALLY BIG cell phones like Galaxy Notes. You probably gonna need to work with a box lid rather than the CD. I hope this was helpful for you. I am waiting for your feedback, comments, questions and responses with pictures. I am inspired : Easy free bathroom organizer in no time

One of my quick projects I adore, is this simple shower organizer I have inspired from Real-Simple. While I was searching about bathroom organizers, I got some great pictures that most of them depend on drilling the walls which is not an option for me or for you if you are renting the house. I can't have too many holes in the walls everywhere specially for cabinets and shelves. So I had another options.

Yes exactly !! In my kitchen. This baskets tower I used for a long time to store onions and potatoes and I didn't realize that it has gorgeous baskets you can use anywhere else. I spent too many times thinking what else can I store in it ? I had nothing else to store here, and I missed to ask where else can I use baskets that I don't need. I removed the last basket and you can guess where did I  use it :D.

I removed it, and with a thick road I hanged this beautiful basket in an pre-installed hook in the wall to store all  my husband, my baby and my shower supplies. It looks beautiful, gorgeous and it is inexpensive. I didn't pay anything for it and I made it in no time without drilling in the wall. Isn't it look Sweet N Tidy :D?.

How to make time manager out of foam board

When I got my first baby, everything was turn upside down, I had no time to do anything, all my time was spent in failed trials to calm my baby down, stop him crying and try to figure out what he wanted. Everything was messed up. Laundry stacked over. Dishes were dancing in the sink. Everything was messed. Like a new mom I was frustrated and disappointed. It seemed that I failed in everything. I couldn't take care of my baby neither my home.

To step up again  I spent most of my time trying to fix everything, and again it seems that I turned the coin up. I took care about home but most of the time my baby is setting on the bouncer in-front of  the TV  with nothing to learn and no one to play with. Of-course I was doing the basic duties for him, but I had no time to have fun with him, read for him, or teach him something. I had no time to spend with my husband, no also time to spend for myself !! I was spending all the time fixing the stacks and piles. I spend much effort cleaning a room while laundry was screaming fixing messed crafts while the dishes are in the sink. Again, I failed. I couldn't care of neither home nor my baby .

Luckily I was in a vacation of my job, or I would be in a miserable situation. You can also imagine my social relationships state. I was always missing that I need enough water or to communicate with people. I missed a lot of things.

There was something wrong . I couldn't figure out that it was the balance, I have to balance the scales.

What I want you to do now is to grab a paper and write down EVERY SINGLE THING you want to keep doing it during your day. For example I wanted to keep my social relationship good, so I wanted to be sure to pick one of my friends or relatives name everyday to call or keep in contact. When I did, I rarely miss something of this. Everything is going well.

I know I talked too much but I just needed to tell you how I was without time manager. I made a time manager out of foam board I got from my TV unboxing. I will show you how to do this super inexpensive time manager out of a foam board you may throw it away.

You will need

1 - foam board
2 - fabric
3 - scissor
4 - stapler
5 - pins and nails
6 - transparent contact paper

I cut the fabric to the size of the board I have leaving one or two extra inches in the edges.

Iron it and this is optional, and pin it from the behind of the board using pins and the stapler.

I printed out my calender, everyday duties, to-do list, shopping list, goals and ideas. Then I covered them with the transparent contact paper which is perfect for writing and erasing markers without buying a magnetic white board. I needed a container to put markers and sticky notes so I got a cardboard box, covered it with fabrics and attach it to the board back with the nails

How to make a magazines holder

In this post I am going to show you how to make a magazine holder for your office room. It is made out of cardboard. That what makes it super easy ,super inexpensive and reliable. So if you have magazines, printing papers, Notebooks or any small books cluttered over here and there in your office room, you can make this beautiful Sweet N Tidy folder to collect  your office clutters for you NOW.

You will need:

1 - Any piece of cardboard available.
2 - cutter.
3 - Hot glue gun.
4 - contact or gift papers
5 - white papers

I guess the most of items are available for you. Bring them and let's go

1 - Cut the piece of cardboard as shown in the next picture

 x refers to the height you need for whatever you like to store in the folder. Magazines, notebook or small books. Just measure the height of them then you will have the x value.

z refers to the width of the magazines.

y refers to the width you like for the folder. It's your choice. It may be related to the number of magazines you would like to store. If they are too many you will need big width. If just few magazines you will need small width and so on.

2 - After cutting the cardboard collect the pieces you cut with the glue gun as shown in the next picture.

3-You only need to cover with the contact paper outside and white paper inside.

If you have only gift paper as I have you will need a glue to cover them.I mad three of them one with this pink lovely gift paper.
