An organized craft supplies area

Our craft section in the office room was occupying an Ikea BILLY bookcase in our office room. Last year I wasn't so excellent enough in taking photos and the DIYs were not so perfect from my point of view and now the craft area is a little empty and it has been put in hold for a while as we have a nice toddler running around and when it comes to a jewellery maker craft storage ... This is absolutely dangerous for my toddler.

 But I still like to show you the photos of how craft area was last year because I still remember how  it was so fun to organize such area. I am so into organizing craft supplies. I love the challenge organizing small things especially when they are so small, so pretty and so colourful. So let's take a look

How to organize origami papers

As I said before I am so crafty person . I like crafts so much . I have  too many origami papers which I use to make very beautiful origami shapes. All what I did to organize them is to get a shoe cardboard box and covered it with contact papers and made cardboard dividers for it.

Here is how to do it

I cut 3 pieces of cardboard  W x H and two pieces D x H. In equal spaces I cut  H/2 stripes inside the cardboard pieces to make room for the mutual cardboard pieces to in like a mesh. It now fits all my origami papers . Also my folded origami pieces .

A quick tip . If you have small pieces of origami papers remained from your projects just group them with elastics  or rubber bands. 

And this is how I organize my origami papers. I also grouped them by colors to make it easier to use.

How to organize ribbons

This is a lovely project I made few months ago. I organized my old and new ribbons in this small box and I spent ZERO BUDGET as usual.

This was a shoe box that I covered with contact papers and I organized all kinds of ribbons, threads and strings there. I also have my shiny tapes and wire rings.

I know this doesn't look fancy but it still looks pretty, organized, Sweet N Tidy. These are all my ribbons. New ribbons, old ribbons and even the remains. I will show you exactly what I have done here.

First of all I used to have big wide spools with small amount of threads or ribbons, so I turned  all similarities into one spool to have several empty spools so that I can use them for other ribbons which don't have spools. I started to turn the ribbons over the spool, and because the spool was so wide and the ribbons were thin the spool was happy to take several ribbons close to each other. I secured their ends with a hot glue drop for each. I made this for only ribbons that have the same size and colors because I am sure I will use only one of them - it doesn't make sense to open one secured ribbon while I already have an opened one that has the same color and shape - so I am sure now that I will use the ribbon freely with no effect to the other ribbons in the same spool because they are secured.


Some of the ribbons weren't have any spools. I made a DIY spool for them using plastic bags cardboard roll and two pieces of cardboard that I cut into circles, You can see them in the purple and the green ribbons.

I got grilling sticks and setup them into the box and have organized my ribbon spools inside them. To get the sticks more space to dig into, I added some pieces of thick tape.

For short ribbons, I cut these pieces of cardboard and covered them with duct tape then I turned around the ribbons over them securing the ends with pins or like the upcoming photo shows.

I secured the ribbons at the ends like that.

Sometimes I use those remaining pieces of ribbons to make a ribbon colorful balls so I secured them with rubber bands .

I used this small box to store them.

I had some shiny tapes that I grouped them all with some broken sticks.

So here we are. the final look

A surprise in beads DIY shelves

Remember those DIY  stairs shelves I have shared before?  They are stair shelves I made to display my small beads' jars. Actually it may be a surprise when you see how I made a secret storage inside them. Have a look.

I just cut pieces of cardboard to make a box that fits each space and I covered them with gift paper. Of course if you have a contact paper you will get more clean finish but I didn't have contact papers that day.

What I want to say is to try always to think outside the box. Try to consume each space in your room or closet. Think , think and think again. You will get it.

How to make mini display stairs shelves

One of DIY storage projects is  this gorgeous mini display stair shelves that I made for storing my beads jars. I have to tell you that I had much fun when I was working with this project. It was easy and you have it for free. I like the stairs shelves because they are easy to use and you can grab whatever you need with no time because you can see everything. Also you can easily grab what you need without any need to remove anything in-front. I show you how to do it. I have done my best in the next pictures to draw this for you :D . I hope they are helpful and clear.

You need

1 - Any card board pieces.
2 - Cutter and cutting board.
3 - hot glue gun.
4 - Glossy contact papers.

Step you will follow

1 - Cut the cardboard as shown in the picture below. Let's assume you have the following depth for the space you like to add your shelves on. Measure the height of the space. Measure the jar height. You will have the height of the shelves to be height of the space minus height of the jar leaving extra 2 inches for easy use. Shelf width will calculated according to number of shelves you want to make. For here I made 3 stairs and used the ground as well. So I need to divide the space by 4. Each step is going to be half of the previous step. I promise you will understand more when you carefully see the picture below.

2 - Collect the pieces of card boards as shown in the previous picture in the left bottom corner and glue them with the hot glue gun.

3 - Cover the body with the glossy contact paper as shown.

I liked using the glossy paper because it wasn't easy for the jars to fall down or to move while I am moving the shelves. They are secured in their places. If you are more interested, there's a big surprise in this stair shelves here.

Organize craft room : Organize beads using plastic jars

I am very excited to share this lovely project with you. I have to admit that I am in love with making accessories. I have tons of beads to work with. For a long time  I had no where to store them. They were stored in bags they came with and they were looking like pieces of junks. Then I got this idea of this plastic jars.

 I have tons of these plastic jars of peanuts that my husband likes to snack. I was thinking about using them to store dry food but I wasn't sure about the plastic material. It doesn't have any signs for the plastic quality. So I decided to store beads inside them.


I didn't like the way it looks. It is kind of blurred and unclear plastic, also the lid was miserable. What I did is to make some coroche covers for them

They looked pretty  with these covers. I have chosen bright light colors threads and used double stitch. I started with making a circle for 9 cm diameter - which matches the bottom of the jar diameter- and continued normally with the double stitches. They look pretty when I covered them

A useful tip is that I did this cover with a small window at the bottom of the cover to be able to see what's inside and I made it closer to the bottom in order to see what's inside no matter how much the amount is. To make the window, let's say it is 4 stitches wide. just don't complete the last four stitches in your line and keep making lines leaving the last four stitches. when you find the suitable height just close the line with four chains and complete your lines normally.
